This engaging session provides practical tools to help educators give directions that students can follow the first time. Participants will learn how to effectively use Launch Buttons to gain students' full attention before giving instructions, break tasks into manageable parts using the "One Step at a Time" strategy, and redirect off-task behavior or questions without disrupting the lesson flow. The “Every, Every, Every” approach emphasizes holding all students to the same expectations, ensuring equity and clarity. Together, these strategies reduce confusion, save valuable time, and help students start tasks with confidence and focus.
